story of a disappointmentSome days I just don't understand the world at all.
When the low pressure system conspires
with my decreasingly adequate spectacle prescription
and the fact that I haven't eaten
any sufficient protein in over 24 hours,
I stumble around the house,
in front of a glaring computer screen,
over a hungry cat,
and I spill Whiskas milk on a freshly washed mat.

I try to read Nabokov
while the letters dance all over the page,
I drink three more coffees than usual,
eat two more steaks than usual,
and every sound at the front door
(a postman! a delivery man! a Jehovah's Witness!!)
sends my palpitating heart into the depths ofstory of a disappointment by `photofairy

THAT Woman     First they said, "No wind chimes outside the cottages. Three warnings will be given, then you are subject to eviction."
     My Granny said, "Humph. I like my old bamboo windchime. I can't even reach it no more to take it down. It's gonna stay, dammit, and I will too."

Giving and Receiving Feedback

One of the most useful things on deviantart is the option to give and receive feedback. There are different kinds of feedback. This article aims to inform you on how to give quality feedback and hopefully receive it.
Types of Feedback

Comments

One of the quickest ways to interact with others. From journals, to forums, to art, to profiles, comments are used everywhere. However, the quality can range from spam, to constructive.
Critiques

Any deviant can write them,(~,*,=,`,^ etc.) but only premium members can request them. Constructive comments can substitute for these. Critiques take some time to write, and really provide insight. If used correctly, can be a wonderful way to give/receive constructive criticism.

I believe in deviantART. Which is to more accurately say I believe in the concept and the reality of the deviantART community.
When in contemplation of the eternal wellspring that is the deviantART project and how it has become the engine keeping my heart and mind on a full burn as I strive to be an upstanding member of the community as well as a helpful architect and eager participant in the conversation -- my thoughts inevitably settle upon my attempts to define my concept of Gratitude.
